Austin Seven Oil Jet and Removal Tool

The above rough drawing shows the dimensions of the home made drift used to tap-out the two oil jets used in the aluminium crankcase on the Austin Seven engine. The drift was approximately 5" in length. Firstly,  the damaged jet is cut off flush with the aluminium case (from the inside). The drift can then be used to tap the remaining jet body back through the crankcase housing. Heating the local area also helps. These jets are a very tight fit, so some force is required in there removal. The same tool can be used for inserting the new brass jets. Thanks to Ian Moorcraft for these tips.
